Are you aware of the Hong Kong Ready Church initiative? A number of churches in the Cheltenham area have already signed up.

The initiative is in response to the hundreds of thousands of Hong Kong residents expected to migrate to this country under a new visa provision. It's a gesture of welcome to them.

Recently Peter Sibley reported, "A few of us from West Cheltenham parish recently attended a meeting with Krish Kandiah about registering as a Hong Kong ready church." He contacted the MCEA secretary asking, "Do we know whether any other Cheltenham churches are doing this?"

Stefani McDade in Christianity Today wrote an excellent article entitled, "560 UK Churches Ready to Welcome Hong Kong Wave." She reported, "Welcome Churches is helping to profile local congregations willing to receive newcomers from other nations and offering cross-cultural training on how to fully incorporate these new families into their church bodies."

If you'd like to know more and want to consider signing up for this initiative, go to the web page: Hong Kong Ready Church.
