Are you looking for something fun, interesting and informative to do in August? An opportunity to get out for a walk, a picnic, meet a few new people and learn about some local historical sites?

Our Reformation Day Out and Walking Tour is the perfect opportunity! Did you know that 500 years ago, Gloucester played a major role in kick-starting the English Reformation?

The date and venue is now confirmed: 29th August (bank holiday Monday) at St Catharine’s Church in Gloucester (corner of London Road and Denmark Road). We’ll start at 9.30am until roughly 2.30pm. Parking is available.
We’ll begin with some teaching: a whistlestop tour of the Reformation in its historical context – with a local focus. We’ll see how it radically transformed the way we practice our faith today.

Then we’ll head off for a short ‘pilgrimage walk’ to visit the Tyndale Monument, share a picnic lunch, visit the Hooper Memorial and St Oswalt’s Priory – and learn what really happened 500 years ago, and why it still matters today! GTS Director Dr Daniel Button will lead the way. Donations to GTS gratefully accepted.
