Mid Cotswold Evangelical Alliance

About Us

Mid Cotswold Evangelical Alliance (MCEA) is a local evangelical fellowship bringing together evangelical churches and ministries in the Cotswold area and its surroundings.

Churches and Christian ministries in Cheltenham, Winchcombe and Tewkesbury are particularly well represented within MCEA. Nevertheless, there is always also a welcome for those in other parts of Gloucestershire and neighbouring counties.

Mid Cotswold Evangelical Alliance (MCEA) draws together local evangelical churches, ministries and individual Christians for the purpose of prayer, information exchange and encouragement - PIE.

MCEA consistently attracts 20-30 representatives every two months to meetings which are either breakfast meetings or lunch meetings. Everyone involved views it as a valuable mechanism of encouragement for busy people building local church and local ministry.

MCEA originated in 1991 in response to a request made to Stuart Kimber by Evangelical Alliance, London. Stuart was at that time Anglican minister of St Silas, Cheltenham.

Bi-Monthly breakfast meetings began informally during 1992 and on 5th March 1993 the Mid Cotswold Evangelical Alliance was officially founded with a meeting to elect a Working Group.

The acronym PIE represents Prayer, Information Exchange, Encouragement. This was dreamed up by Paul Harris to give a simple representation of our purpose in gathering together. PIE goes along well with breakfast as our meeting time!

Invites to the bi-monthly MCEA Breakfast go out to representatives of the member organisations. They also go out to individual Evangelical Alliance members and guests. If you would like to receive an invite please contact the MCEA secretary via the Contact page.
